The school offers 19 majors in seven categories, including navigation technology, vehicle technology, equipment manufacturing, information technology, transportation services, finance and business, and sports and fitness. Of these, there are 4 national-level demonstration construction majors and 8 autonomous regional-level demonstration or brand majors. It is a comprehensive national key public secondary vocational school that mainly cultivates professional and technical talents in transportation, shipping and port management.

The school offers national student grants. Full-time students who meet the policy requirements are eligible for the national student grant for secondary vocational education. A special grant is awarded annually by the Organizing Committee of the "China Maritime Day" Event in the Pearl River Region, and students majoring in navigation are eligible to apply. The school also offers government scholarships: full-time students in their second year or above who are both academically excellent and morally upright are eligible for the autonomous regional-level government scholarships; full-time students in their second year or above with outstanding academic performance, professional skills and comprehensive qualities are eligible for the National Scholarship.
