General Introduction
This course focuses on cultivating students’ ability skills in garden plant design and application. It primarily covers topics including analysis of plant landscape styles, expression of garden plant landscape elements, the basic methods of plant landscape design,
design of plant compositions combining plants with other garden elements, floral landscape design, tree landscape design, and the basic concepts and approaches to designing small courtyard plant landscapes.

This Course is for
1. Helping trainees cultivate a scientific attitude of truth-seeking and pragmatism, and the craftsman spirit of striving for excellence.
2. Equipping trainees with landscape ecological awareness, professional dedication, and ethical standards.
3. Fostering trainees’ innovation literacy and teamwork spirit, and strengthening a deep sense of social responsibility.
4. Enabling trainees to conduct site surveys and analyze and evaluate plant landscape effects.
5. Helping trainees design and draw planting design drawings that meet drafting standards and thematic requirements.
6. Enabling trainees to use digital tools to support self-learning and continuous learning.
7. Helping trainees distinguish different plant landscape styles and types, and explain plant design methods and key points for different types of landscapes.
8. Laying the necessary groundwork for keeping abreast of the latest developments and trends in plant landscape design.

Benefits of Learning

1. Knowing how to conduct site research based on the principles and methods of plant landscape design, and evaluate the effects of plant landscapes.
2. Being able to use computers to produce planting-landscape design drawings that accurately express design concepts.
3. Capable of making design schemes (e.g. flowerbeds, flower borders, garden spots) in accordance with thematic and environmental requirements, and complete a full set of design drawings.
4. Being able to write written summaries of work undertaken (such as site investigations, landscape greening of scenic spots), with ability to analyze findings and report them.
5. Possessing the ability to identify real problems in practical work, provide feedback on issues encountered in practice in a timely manner, and apply learned theories and methods to solve such problems.
