General Introduction
The International Experts Sharing Meeting brings together distinguished scholars, practitioners, and professionals from ASEAN and beyond to exchange perspectives on emerging trends, innovative approaches, and best practices in low-carbon energy technologies and sustainable development. This edition focuses on “Low-Carbon Energy Technologies and the Sustainable Development Goals”. As the global energy landscape continues to evolve in response to climate change, energy security, and the growing demand for sustainable development, low-carbon energy technologies play a critical role in supporting the transition toward cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable energy systems. The development and deployment of renewable energy, energy efficiency solutions, energy storage, smart energy systems, and other emerging technologies present both opportunities and challenges in achieving inclusive and sustainable development. The session invites participants to explore how low-carbon energy technologies can contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Topics include renewable energy integration, energy efficiency and conservation, energy storage technologies, smart grids and intelligent energy systems, sustainable energy access, and innovative approaches to reducing carbon emissions across energy systems. Discussions will also consider the interconnections between technological innovation, environmental sustainability, economic development, and social well-being. Through expert presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions, the meeting promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. It aims to inspire participants to examine innovative energy solutions, share research and real-world experiences, and strengthen collective efforts toward a low-carbon future. By connecting technological advancements with the broader objectives of the SDGs, the meeting seeks to highlight the role of sustainable energy technologies in advancing climate action, energy security, inclusive development, and long-term global sustainability.
