General Introduction
This course is a core course in the Interior Architectural Design program. Through this course, trainees will acquire the processes and methodologies of public space design, from establishing design concepts and developing specific spatial elements to conducting thematic design projects and ultimately completing comprehensive public space design proposals. The course is designed to meet the competency requirements of positions related to public space design.
The course focuses on two principal categories of design environments: urban spaces and rural spaces. A series of representative real-world design projects are adopted as teaching vehicles, including thematic sculpture design, pocket park design, adaptive reuse of industrial buildings, and village square space development. Through these projects, trainees experience a complete learning process encompassing theoretical study, case analysis, design methodology application, and practical design development, thereby progressively enhancing their capabilities in public space design.

This Course is for
1. Helping trainees master the processes and methodologies of public space design, and understand current design trends and professional design ethics.
2. Enabling trainees to proficiently apply various spatial design methods and complete thematic design projects related to urban and rural environments.
3. Developing trainees’ ability to integrate human-centered design, cultural heritage preservation, and contemporary design concepts into their work, while fostering an awareness of social value creation.
