General Introduction
This course serves as a foundational course for students majoring in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and related fields. It covers two primary areas: geometric tolerances and error detection, and is closely related to
mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing, and quality control. Within the professional curriculum framework, this course plays a pivotal role as a bridge between earlier and later specialized courses.

This Course is for
1. Helping trainees understand the basic concepts of interchangeability, tolerances, standardization, and measurement technology.
2. Equipping trainees to master dimensional tolerances and fits, geometric tolerances, surface roughness, and their inspection methods.
3. Enabling trainees to master tolerances and fits for typical parts and their inspection methods.

Benefits of Learning

1. Being able to master the basic concepts of interchangeability and measurement technology and understand the role and significance of interchangeability in mechanical manufacturing.
2. Understanding the main content of national standards for various tolerances and fits, and being able to independently consult tolerance tables and correctly select the required values.
3. Being able to correctly apply tolerance and fit standards according to the functional requirements of machines and parts, and reasonably select appropriate tolerances and fits.
4. Understanding how to correctly and properly specify dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances, surface roughness, and other requirements on engineering drawings in accordance with national standards.
5. Being able to understand the measurement principles and methods for various typical geometric quantities and develop appropriate measurement plans for specific objects to be measured.
6. Understanding how to select and correctly use common measuring tools and instruments, perform general technical measurements, and inspect and determine whether parts meet specified requirements.
