General Introduction
This edition highlights “My Digital Story: How Social Media Shapes My Identity.” In an era where social media is deeply embedded in everyday life, digital platforms have become powerful spaces where young people express themselves, form relationships, and construct their identities. From curated online personas to the pressure of trends, algorithms, and public opinion, social media plays a significant role in influencing how individuals see themselves and how they are seen by others.
Through keynote reflections, real-life experiences, and interactive discussions, this session encourages participants to critically reflect on their own digital journeys. The talk explores both the opportunities and challenges of social media that includes self-expression, community building, comparison culture, and digital authenticity. Participants are invited to relate these experiences to their local and national contexts, particularly within ASEAN societies, and consider how culture, values, and social norms shape digital identity formation in different countries and beyond.
